A Message From John:
This weekend was a whirlwind of emotion and stress as I moved Phogropathy from its baby hosting provider to a big boy service. If you’ve been a regular reader of the site you’re probably aware of the ‘error establishing database connection’ messages or the 15-30+ second page load times that plagued the site – especially over the last week or so. It was frustrating – I know – but it ends today.
This new server is fast and scalable meaning I shouldn’t have any more issues both now and as the site grows moving forward.
That being said the move wasn’t easy and it resulted in a period of time where it appeared that Phogropathy didn’t exist for about six hours. I’d like to thank everyone for having patience as the site goes through these growing pains and as I personally learn how to deal with new things.
It is humbling to know that I’ve reached this point in my site’s existence and is something that I’m personally very proud of. It’s been an amazing learning experience along the way and I am always excited for the next challenge that awaits.
Much thanks,
-John
Daily Photo – A Simple Snowy Sunrise

Unfortuantely due to the move and the complications that resulted from it I really had no time to edit any new photographs for you this week so we’re heading into the archives. I’ll do my best to get some new shots to you later in the week, or definitely by next week, but it’s going to take a couple days for me to catch up with what I need to do.
Here’s a photograph of a sunrise shoot I went on late last year. It was a cold morning, but so peaceful and quiet. That’s something that’s so different about sunrise as opposed to any other time of the day – it’s quiet. Just you and the birds. For those of you who aren’t morning people – I really suggest just getting up one morning before the sun and getting outside it’s mind cleansing.

Happy to hear you’ve upgraded the server to the site. It’s definitely snappier to load the pages now. Cool photo by the way.
