Double Yellow

Yesterday I announced the newest addition to Phogropathy.com – a community forum area. This area is designed to be a place for you to communicate and share ideas and inspiration with other Phogropathy readers – I hope you will start to take advantage of it and enjoy it!

However, that’s not all that I’ve been working on behind the scenes. Here’s a couple more things you’ll see in the next month or so.

  • New site design – I’m working on a full site revamp which I think is pretty awesome (I’ll be showing some screen shots of it on Facebook in the coming weeks – like my page if you haven’t done so yet!).
  • New feature – “Edited by Phogropathy” – This is something I’ve been toying with and I’d like feedback on how you think it should be run. The general idea I have in my head is that you would submit a photograph to me which I would then edit as I’d edit any of my own photos. I’d then post a before and after image of my edit and explain why I did what I did within the post. You as the photographer would retain full rights of the photo and I’d send you the full resolution edited photograph along with a preset of the settings I used to create the image in LR4. Is this something people are interested in?

Daily Photo – Double Yellow

I have always wanted to take a photograph like this and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I was down in GA last week. I first processed this photograph as a full color version, but then thought that I’d try something with selective color, as I’ve never done this before.

I think I really like this version, but if enough people want me to, I’ll share the full color version in a future post.

  1. The only thing that I do not like about the selective colour is that it feels like it drops off suddenly. The lines themselves go down way back into the distance, but the colour drops about halfway through the picture which feels a bit odd.
