Thank you for taking the time to visit my little forum I truly hope that this place will grow into a fun community focused on learning how to become better photographers.

Take a moment and introduce yourself in this thread.

  • Where are you from?
  • What's in your camera bag?
  • Do you have a website, flickr, Facebook etc.?
  • How long have you been photographing for?

Feel free to expand upon this list as well....

Here's Mine!

  • I live in the United States about an hour outside of Boston MA
  • I own a Nikon D7000 camera body with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, 50mm, 18-105mm kit lens and a 55-300mm tele.
  • Well you're on my site and probably know about all the other places that I am so I wont list them here.
  • I've been photographing seriously since February 2011 and have been running Phogropathy since April of that same year.
  • I am allergic to cats, but wish I could own one, I'd love a dog but would feel bad leaving him home alone for hours on end.

I'm looking forward to your intros! :)

Greetings. I will happily start things out here. I am 59 from San Diego. I enjoy the outdoors and hiking. My 7D is usually with me. I have plenty of good glass to take good pictures. My fault if they don't turn out! I have tried to learn photography from trial and error and the web. It is a great tool. I apprecaite what you are trying to do here and the sign on process was pretty painless. I really like the math problem instead of the fuzzy letters that require me getting my glasses to wager a guess! Good luck and I will try to send a couple of other folks here.

Welcome! Glad to hear that the registration wasn't difficult I'm hoping for it to be easy as possible to join up and start contributing to the discussions.

I look forward to seeing some of your photos - Maybe start by sharing some in the share your shots section? :)

Right!! so this is for introductions!!!

Hi! I'm Miguel, 34, from Buenos Aires Argentina. I've always loved photography and taking pictures, never had a decent camera and always thought "this shot would have been so great if I had a decent camera"... so two weeks ago I bought a canon 1100d with a 18.55 lense kit
So now we'll get to see if a better camera will give me better shots! Seriously though, I have always been interested with the idea of being able to play with different settings and not just have the camera decide what to do... even though right now it appears that most of the times the camera was right and I wasn't!!!
I'm a frustrated musician, I'm an actor sometimes (hey if you know any producers let me know I'll send my cv!), right now I took un luthiery as a hobby and have a 4 year old daughter, so you might expect lots of pictures of wood and guitars and my daughter. We'll see!

I'm using photobucket right now, would you reccomend switching to flickr?

see you around!

miguel

Welcome to my little forum Miguel - Hope you find it a fun place to share and talk about photography!

Congrats on the camera I hope you get some awesome use out of it - but as the old saying goes - it's not the camera it's the photographer that matters. Of course my theory is that it's a combination of the two - an experienced photographer with a Nikon D800 will most certainly take a better photo than that same experienced photographer with an iPhone 3GS.

As far as switching to Flickr - that I can't say I have never used Photobucket and I wouldn't say it's any worse or better than Flickr. If you want to take part in the photo shares on my site though for now you'd need a Flickr account as it's how I'm organizing the submission process - I used to accept submissions here and on my Facebook page, but it got too difficult to keep organized so I went back to simply using Flickr.

What I MIGHT do is open my Google+ Community to Photo Share Submissions - but that has yet to really get going yet so I'm going to wait a bit and see how things play out there.

Again welcome hope to see your back again soon!
