This week as we continue to learn how to edit photos in Lightroom I show you a bit about editing a night sky photograph. This single exposure was never published as such, instead, it was one of several hundred exposures that went into creating this star-trail photograph (which is an entirely new can of worms as far as editing goes). I also used this photograph in one of my first time-lapse experiments – which I think is worth the watch if you’ve got a free 30 seconds.
Let’s Edit – The Lake House
So, today we’re learning how I went about editing this one RAW file as the first step in the long process of creating the star trail photograph that I linked to above. Would you like to see the rest of the process – I mean creating the star trails is really the most exciting part right? I’ll work on it for those who are interested, but it’d definitely be outside the realm of this “Let’s Edit” series and I’ll definitely need to wait for a more powerful computer to be able to record and edit that at the same time.
For now, I hope you enjoy this third video in this Let’s Edit series. I would appreciate it if you took the time to share, like, tweet and pin this post to help spread the “Let’s Edit” series to as many people as possible – but that’s only if you’ve found it worthy of doing so.
Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next week as we continue to learn how to edit photos in Lightroom!

Loving these videos – Gotta say there’s a lot to learn about how to edit photos in Lightroom – Thanks for sharing these tips!
Thanks Jimmy – Lightroom is a great photo editing tool and there’s certainly a lot to learn. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned so far about editing photos in Lightroom and I really hope that I can help a lot of people learn with this series!
Great edit. I’m not overly familiar with Lightroom so your edits are a tad fast for me…….luckily I can rewind and watch again.
Yeah – I know I do tend to fly through the edits, but like you said, having the ability to rewind and watch again is great if you need a second or third look at what I’m doing.
I’d think if I slowed down and spent a lot of time in areas it might start to drag on and get a little too boring. At least that was my reasoning for the 5-10 minute long videos.
