Happy Friday everyone – To my fellow New England readers – I hope you’re ready to be snowed in this weekend. I thought this photo would be a good tribute to the pending blizzard.
Daily Photo – Snow Macro
Today’s photo was taken with the iPhone using my Olloclip Macro add-on. I then used Snapseed to sharpen it up and add some additional brightness. I think it’s really kind of amazing to see the ice crystals this close up – and all from an iPhone photograph too!
As you might know, a massive winter storm is heading directly for the New England area, and I’m pretty much in the bullseye for snow totals. There is potential for more than 30 inches in my backyard and I’ll be doing my best to document the storm. I’m going out right now to take some quick ‘before’ photos and I’ll try and take some during photos tonight and early Saturday and then by Saturday night and Sunday morning I’ll grab those after shots for you.
Now, of course, this all will be done so long as I can safely do it – no photo is worth a life.

Really cool macro. The olloclip looks like it does a pretty good job.
I love macros! That’s an awesome shot and on an iPhone… Just proves that it’s not the equipment that matters the most!
Wow…an iPhone.
Stay warm and stay safe
Yeah – well it’s the iPhone with a fun little attachment called “Olloclip” which basically caused the iPhone’s camera to focus at like 11mm or something crazy close like that and adds a 10x magnification to it. I got it as a gift from my girlfriend for my birthday and have been having a lot of fun with it.
