The Sawmill at Moore State Park

Nikon announced their new entry level DSLR the D3200 and wow 24mp!

That’s a pretty big step up from the 14mp resolution of the D3100 (my first camera), but does that 24mp resolution really mean a better camera? Sure the images will be larger and you’ll be able to crop your mistakes out of the frame while still being able to print your 4×6 images, but it’s still an entry level camera – right?

Are people who this camera is marketed for really going to need that kind of resolution or do you think this is just Nikon fueling the megapixel marketing war?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on Nikon’s new entry-level DSLR – comment below and let me know what you think!

Daily Photo – The Sawmill at Moore State Park

Sawmill At Moore State Park Paxton

I finally was able to make it out to Moore State Park yesterday after work and what a beautiful place it is! I can only imagine it on a cool summer morning with mist rising off the water you could get some really amazing photos of this sawmill or of the Enchanted bridge (which you’ll see tomorrow). It is however, kind of a hike for me to get there before sunrise, but I’ll try and find the time to do it!

I textured this photograph with a snap I took of a mossy boulder the other day. It’s an interesting effect and brings out some different details in the shot. (remember you can click on the image to view it larger)

As always thanks for visiting Phogropathy – I hope you will be back again soon!

I feel that they are just adding fuel to that flame. The good ole’ Megapixel War. I mean come on it’s an entry level camera, do those in that market really need to that much, no! Its going to give those in that market the idea that the more MP I have the better my pictures are. Needless to sY that I was a tad upset when I saw that particular feature of the new D3200.

On to your picture. I love it and couldnt agree more about the possibilty for an even more amazing shot with mist tossed in. But, with the HDR I do see that the cabin does blend in a bit much!

    Keep up the great work.

Yeah I hear ya Mike – The D3200 is more of a crutch for new photographers to not have to learn about composing a shot or properly zooming a shot because they’ll just be able to “crop it later” and “fix the issues”

Not much we can do about it though really.
